Portable Storykiosk Kits for Community Storytelling
We’re excited to ship two new Portable Storykiosk Kits out this week — our next generation combination of hardware and software designed specifically for gathering video stories and testimonials in public places.
We’ve developed these kits for a new hybrid model of museum exhibit, one that includes both a long term installation in the museum, and also a portable version that is easy to take out to community spaces beyond the museum. Libraries, festivals, partner organizations, local government offices, chambers of commerce…the goal is to use stories as the connector between organizations in service of local community.
Sample questions to illicit stories include:
- What changes have you seen in our city over the years? What changes would you like to see?
- Describe a favorite memory from the Museum as we celebrate our 100th anniversary…
- What is your favorite local place to get away from it all? Describe it…
A pleasure to work with 42 Design Fab on design of the easy-to-set-up portable unit. Within five minutes, and without tools, an attractive station ready to record. We are also including in the kit some of the supplies we’ve found helpful in our popup work, including changeable signage, an optional light kit, and the ever useful roll of gaffer’s tape. To provide a guiding hand through the process, delighted to integrate development services for popup exhibits from community exhibit innovator Katie Spencer.
Our mix and match list of components includes: exhibit installations, temporary rentals, our online recording service, and consulting. Drop a line if you’d like more info!
