The Other Side, Tom Snyder Productions, 1999. Web/CD-ROM program links students from around the country in a conflict resolution simulation in which two nations try to coexist while maintaining a stable economy, military responsibility, and national security. Teams of students communicate and negotiate with their peers around the country by entering strategic moves and sending messages over the Internet. |

Rainforest Researchers, Tom Snyder Productions, 1997. Students work as part of a team of scientists to solve two challenging assignments about rainforest plants. Working collaboratively, students investigate real scientific challenges based on current research in tropical forests. Cultural Debates, Tom Snyder Productions, 1997. Critical thinking and problem solving activities through cooperative learning. Students explore a unique rainforest community and debate about issues that face all cultures, such as: technology, medicine, ecotourism, education, and land. Discovering French Interactive, DC Heath/Houghton Mifflin, 1993. Users drag cartoon characters into position on screen and record conversations (in French) between them, allowing a wide range of creative dialogues. User's creations can be saved onto the hard drive, allowing "show and tell" between students using the program. Winner of Top Ten Highly Recommended Programs, in "CD-ROM for Schools," Macromedia People's Choice (1993), NewMedia Invision Award of Excellence (1994). |

¡Dime! Interactive, DC Heath/Houghton Mifflin, 1994. Users drag video sequences onto timeline and record narration (in Spanish). They can also add titles and music backgrounds to further personalize their creations. User-created segments can be saved to hard drive or floppy drive for later playback and editing. Winner of NewMedia Invision Award of Excellence (1995). |
