More thoughts on the MW2012 keynote

A couple more thoughts came to mind as I was running around outside this morning:  although my first reaction was “what?” (especially the phrase “we created a tribe of synthetic monkeys”), my second thought is that’s probably a good sign that we’re looking a little further than the coming year or two.  I can image 3-4 years down the road with implementation of Google Goggles (maybe Google Uber Goggles), visitors will have access to 360 degrees of media.

How does this relate to the real objects in museums, and communication between visitors?  Maybe it’s a mode to toggle on and off, for a more visceral impact, to show the context of the immediate exhibit. In any case, great that cultural heritage sites are being documented in a way that may allow this context…
